Ear Piercings

Ear piercing placement diagram
  • Industrial: A bar connecting the Helix and Forward Helix.
  • Helix: The outer cartilage rim (also includes Auricle).
  • Rook: The fold of cartilage just above the Daith.
  • Forward Helix: The front-facing cartilage rim, above the Tragus.
  • Conch (Inner/Outer): The inner "bowl" of the ear.
  • Snug: Horizontal piercing through the anti-helix (inner ridge).
  • Daith: The innermost cartilage fold, above the ear canal.
  • Tragus: The small flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal.
  • Anti-Tragus: The fold of cartilage above the lobe, opposite the Tragus.
  • Lobe (Standard/High): The soft, fleshy lower part of the ear.
  • Orbital: A ring connecting two separate holes (often in the helix or lobe).
  • Flat: A piercing in the flat, upper area of cartilage.

Lip Piercings

  • Labret / Lowbret: A single piercing below the center of the lower lip.
  • Monroe / Madonna: A single stud on the left (Monroe) or right (Madonna) upper lip.
  • Medusa (Philtrum): In the central groove (philtrum) above the upper lip.
  • Vertical Labret: A bar going vertically *through* the lower lip.
  • Snake Bites: A pair of studs, one on each side of the lower lip.
  • Ashley: A single piercing directly in the center of the lower lip.
  • Jestrum: A vertical piercing through the *upper* lip (like a vertical medusa).
  • Spider Bites / Viper Bites: A close pair of studs on one side of the lower lip.
  • Angel Bites: A pair of studs on the upper lip (Monroe + Madonna).
  • Smiley: Through the frenulum (webbing) inside the upper lip.
  • Cyber Bites: A combination of a Medusa and a Labret.
  • Dahlia: A pair of piercings at the corners of the mouth.
  • Canine Bites: Four piercings, combining Angel Bites and Snake Bites.
  • Shark Bites: Two pairs of Spider Bites, one on each side.

Facial Piercings

  • Nostril: The classic piercing on the side of the nostril.
  • High Nostril: Placed higher up on the nasal bridge than a standard nostril.
  • Septum: Through the central cartilage (or "sweet spot") of the nose.
  • Eyebrow (Vertical/Horizontal): A surface piercing through the eyebrow ridge.
  • Anti-Eyebrow (Teardrop): A surface piercing on the upper cheek, below the eye.
  • Bridge (Vertical/Horizontal): A surface piercing at the top of the nose, between the eyes.
  • Austin Bar: A horizontal piercing through the tip of the nose (does not enter septum).
  • Rhino: A vertical piercing through the tip of the nose.

Body Piercings

  • Standard Navel: The classic belly button piercing, usually at the top.
  • Inverse Navel: A piercing at the *bottom* of the navel.
  • Double Navel: A combination of Standard and Inverse.
  • Horizontal Navel: A surface piercing going side-to-side on the navel rim.
  • Surface Bar: A bar with two 90-degree bends that sits under the skin (e.g., Nape, Anti-Eyebrow).
